June 1, 2022 Sea day #3
Today is the third and final Sea Day of the cruise which returns to Cape Liberty tomorrow.
Today we ate breakfast and lunch on the deck 4 level of the Cosmopolitan Dining Room. Ahmed was our waiter again for breakfast. He is also our dinnertime waiter. Our stateroom attendant, Komang (in Balinese his name means third son), delivered our clean laundry this morning. We have fresh shirts for the next cruise. After 11 cruises with Celebrity our new Elite Captain’s Club loyalty status, which we earned in 2018 but hadn’t used on a Celebrity ship, allows for one bag of up to 30 pieces of clothing to be sent to the laundry per person per cruise. The clothes are returned washed, dried and nicely folded. We each can get one piece of clothing dry cleaned on each cruise. There are other new status benefits too, such as access to an exclusive daily coffee house-style breakfast and the evening Cocktail Hour, where we can each have four complimentary alcohol beverages. The discounts on Wi-Fi packages, photo packages and specialty restaurant reservations are greater.
We walked on the shaded Deck 4 which was a little sheltered from the wind before going to the Café al Bacio for cappuccinos. The temperature was 22°C and the sky was sunny. In the late morning, we attended the Captain’s Club Wine Tasting on the deck 5 level of the Cosmopolitan Dining Room. There were over 200 Elite status passengers there to taste four wine samples and learn a little more about wine colour and taste.
It was a relaxing day, people were buying photo packages or sale item from the ship’s shops. By dinner time, some passengers had packed their luggage and placed the suitcases in the hall for the stewards to take to the holding room to off load in the morning for passengers to pick-up in the terminal. We are taking our suitcases off as soon as we can leave the ship to catch a taxi to the airport. There are no shuttle busses for flights leaving before noon.
Ocean Beat was playing dance music in the Rendez-vous Lounge before dinner tonight. Our reserved dinner table has always been table 402 on the deck 5 of the Cosmopolitan Dining Room. Tonight, Karen was sitting at 403 when we arrived and later Milton arrived after getting Karen’s message. During dinner there was an announcement from the bridge that a medical helicopter evacuation would occur shortly. Two crew members and a medical officer were being taken to a hospital. After dinner we went to the theatre for the show “Soundtrack” with the ship’s dancers and singers. Then we returned to the cabin to pack for tomorrow’s departure.
